A la gauche - la tour nord, dite Thomas Becket en souvenir du passage à Laon du prélat anglais, lors de sa fuite d'Angleterre en 1163. L'éveque Gautier de Mortagne l'accuellit et le présenta au roi Louis VII le Jeune. A la droite  - la tour lanterne - Luminosité et clarté font converger tous les volumes vers la pointe centrale, situé pratiquement au centre de l'édifice.

To the left - the north tower, known as Thomas Becket in memory of the English Prelate's passage in Laon during his flight from England in 1163. Bishop Gautier de Mortagne welcomed him and then presented him to Louis VII the Younger. To the right - the Lantern Tower which converges all the light towards a central point located practically

in middle of the cathedral.
